  7. You did such a great job! Your whole lesson was so detailed and the students would learn so much! Would you go deeper into detail about how the senses great with an older grade?

  8. I really enjoyed your presentation. Do you think that the children would be able to use more science if they were in older grades based on this lesson plan or do you think that this is more effective for kindergarten? I think it works great for kindergarten but also think that a few things you went over would work great for first grade. Great blog!!

  9. Great activities! You mentioned that you would touch on the nervous system a little when teaching one of the senses, but what would you say about it on a kindergarten or first grade level?

  13. This is a good blog, and I like the set up of your activities. I want to ask how you might include something that the students can do to relate the senses to everyday activities in their life. Do you think they could write, or voice record, a journal of their uses of their senses during that day?

  14. These activities are great! Students would LOVE all of them! If you were to have Spanish speaking kindergarteners in your classroom, this would be the perfect opportunity for teaching them how to say eye, nose, ears, mouth in English. Maybe the other students could learn to say them in spanish, just for fun? Great lesson plan though!

  15. LOVE the activities! Instead of using magazines, could you have the students take pictures of things they are around often to create their 5 senses book?

  16. Jeremy- No, I was not thinking of you in my video..sorry dont cry.
Elizabeth- They label the picture using paintbrush or Word document on the computer.
Lorraine- I added the words using Paintbrush, and I was so nervous that you were going to see my video so my eye twitched. haha
Tiffany- Yes, I definitely think going more in depth about the nervous system would be a great way to use higher thinking.
Jannie- For the high level students I would go more depth about the nervous system and the senses.
Kayla- some I thought of on my own and some I have seen used in a Kindergarten classroom.
Laura- I do not understand your question haha
Kasey- Yes, the entire lesson plan is for Kindergarten and 1st grade. Some topics could be covered more in depth for higher grades.
Megan- for K and 1st grade I would barely touch on the nervous system. I would just tell them about how all the senses are controled by the nervous system but not go too much into detail at a low grade.
Regina- Yes, in my lesson plan you can see some questions I have for higher level thinking.
Stephanie- Yes, very brief and simply. As the grades get higher, you can go into more detail.
Heather- My sister is 5 years old. She loved it!
Cindy- Yes, those activities would go along great with introducing the 5 senses.
Mallory- Yes, it would work great for ELL students!
Jess- Yes, that would be another alternative to the activity!
